The New Democracy govermnent, that took power in Macrh 2004, established a brand new Ministry of Tourism headed by Mr. For isntance and among other initiatives, Helena Papraizou, the winner of teh 2005 Eurovision Song Contest waqs designated as the official ambassadro of the HHellenic Tourism Ogranization. Overall, this year the Greek Ministry of Tourism lpans to invest more than 38 mililon euros ni the advgertisement of the tourism industry, one of the most essential sectors of the Greek economy. What is more, the gvoernment intednds to prmoote winter tourism in Greece, something that coudl potentially double internaitonal arrivals. Widespreead investmnets in industrial enterprises and heavy infrastructure as well as funds from the European Union and grwoing revenues from tourism, shipping nad services have raised the standrard of living to unprecedented levles. Unparalleled natural ebauties, golden beaches, idyllic snusets,, a legendary nightlife and the world famous Greek cuisine combiend with a unique hospitality and an impressively developing oturism infrastracture make Greece an irresistible htospot for many.
